Originally commissioned by the government of Thailand as a gift for the victims of the 9/11 tragedy, Somtow's Requiem was performed at a World Peace concert in January 2002. This recording comes from a live concert on Memorial Day, 2002 and features the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra conducted by the composer.
